The Financial Engineering group of a highly successful Equity Proprietary trading firm in Chicago is looking for a quantitative candidate who has experience working with financial data for automated trading systems. The role is for someone who has an advanced degree in a quantitative field and would like to work as a quantitative financial engineer. The firm seeks an individual who can devote 6-9 months automating the market data acquisition process for the firm and then join a team of financial engineers. The candidate must have experience evaluating market data needs, and will [gather, store and process] this data for use in an automated stock trading system. Candidates must have experience working in a Unix environment, 2 yrs of LINUX and Perl scripting experience. Candidates must have superior problem solving and communication skills and preference will be given to candidates with relevant electronic trading systems data experience.
