Job Description:
A fast-growing FinTech startup is seeking a Data/Backend Engineer to help develop and scale core infrastructure powering internal systems and data workflows. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working across both backend engineering and data infrastructure in a fast-paced product environment.
Ideal candidates will have a balanced engineering background across backend systems and data infrastructure, with the ability to contribute beyond analytics-focused workflows. The client values builders who can work across the stack, move quickly, and design pragmatic technical solutions.
Location: Boston, MA (2x/week)
Salary: Up to 250k base + equity
Qualifications:

2+ years of experience developing and maintaining production-grade data workflows or backend systems

MUST HAVE 1+ year of experience at a startup

Strong programming experience with Python and solid SQL skills

Experience building scalable, reliable systems that process and move large volumes of data

Familiarity with orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, Dagster, DBT, or equivalent technologies

Prior experience shipping software products or backend services in a production environment

Comfortable operating in startup or high-growth environments with evolving priorities and broad ownership
Preferred:

Exposure to financial platforms, transaction data, accounting systems, or related domains is a plus

Experience with ClaudeCode
