Job Description:
A well-known financial institution that has been around almost 100 years is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be design and implement a data infrastructure and analytical toolset to support optimization activities of the Capital Markets group.
Salary: Up to 150k base + 7% bonus
Location: New York, NY (3-4 days/week)
Responsibilities:

Identify, design, and implement a robust infrastructure for efficient data processing.

Optimize the loading, cleaning, transformation, and storage of complex financial, funding, and transactional data from various sources.

Utilize SQL, Python, and Snowflake for data handling and management.

Improve existing data models of BI tools, enhancing data accessibility and promoting data-driven decision-making across the bank

Build analytical tools to monitor risk: including interest rate, liquidity risks, funding, optionality and changes in risk across the market

Utilize tools to provide actionable insights for optimal balance sheet management.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Finance, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or related required. (Master's preferred)

3+ years of professional experience as a data engineer

Advanced Proficiency in SQL and Python. Proven track record of deploying and managing python codebase in a production setting.

Proven experience with Snowflake or similar Data Warehousing platforms.

Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency in using tools like Plotly, QlikSense, Tableau for data visualization.

Working knowledge of a Git repository for version control and collaborative development

Experience in handling, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.

Skilled in designing and implementing data pipelines for data flow.

Experience in building high impact analytical tools.
